Chiefly sought for strategy and storytelling
Chiefly is me, brand strategist and copywriter, Natasha (Tash) Roberton.
I’m a word person. I use them chiefly to create meaning, distinction, and memorable storytelling for brands that want to cut through and stand out.
You can hire me to write words for you. Short or long-form. Online or off. Strategic or creative. If there’s potential for a good story, my attention is probably piqued.
Services
Creative collaborators
From time to time, depending on the project, there’s a cast of co-conspirators I like to work with for complementary services—namely graphic design, video and film production, photography, illustration and animation, building websites, and other stuff requiring technical skill I don’t possess.
So just like the song, I am one. But when the occasion arises, I can also be many.
Handy.
Work
Below is a little ‘wall of fame’ of the brands and businesses I’ve worked with over the years. Everything from strategy work to radio scripts to content authoring to ad campaigns and all points in between. Get in touch to find out more.
About
Chiefly speaking, I connect brand strategy and creative execution, but I’m also fluent in consumer psychology, marketing, planning, and project management. In a career spanning almost thirty years, I’ve worked agency-side, client-side, and freelance across (it seems) every category, as well as on four continents.
In that time, I’ve come to develop what I like to call ‘The Tao of Tash’.
It goes something like this:
Too many businesses talk about themselves too much and not nearly enough about the real-world problems they solve.
Customers don’t care about your purpose unless it intersects with their needs.
Being distinctive and available is more important than being clever and niche.
Anyone with opposable thumbs can write content. Producing work that builds a brand takes a little more courage and skill.
Everything is exhausting. Transporting people with delightful wordplay, no matter how transitory the moment, is a gift always worth giving.
An equal opportunity writer, I am available to work directly with clients or to expand a creative agency’s freelance bench as required. HMU.
